Case In Point: Dominionist Santorum Takes On The Pope

Dominionism is a cult based on a political philosophy that seeks to make the U.S. government a christian theocracy. It’s been a force in America since the first Puritans, and it’s succeeding in undermining our democracy, now more than ever. We can laugh at the exposure of the dominionist cult called Quivverful worshipped by the Duggar family, but these cults are no joke because they mean to bury American law and replace it with (their twisted version of) god’s law.

The stakes are as high as they have ever been because many white, male politicians seeking power right now are card-carrying dominionists, as discussed yesterday. Today’s dominionist is against humanity. Anything that represents people power is seen as an obstacle to their objectives, and fully explains their support for the greedy corporate elites who would exploit (ruin) our planet’s resources to prove their superiority to everyone else.

Run-of-the-mill dominionists fly almost under the radar of most people. They are driven not by principles, conservative or whatever. They are not merely fundamentalist christians because they operate on a different plane of existence. They consider themselves warriors, much as their counterparts in the Middle East, fighting you and the progress of civilization. They aim to silence everyone who doesn’t adhere to this philosophy. Their maniacal fervor will counter all reasonable thinking on practically every front, from the environment and immigration to equality rights and income inequality, with emotional rigidity that dispenses easily with any cogent ideas that might counter their focus. You will know them by their always inconsistent and self-serving behavior and simple-minded, twisted thinking. They have but one goal and that is to make every person on the planet subject to (their interpretation) of god’s law, whether they make sense or not.

We don’t deny them their religious beliefs — have your faith but keep it to yourself, we say. What we DO object to in the strongest possible terms is politicians and others failing to obey the U.S. Constitution which unapologetically makes the separation of church and state non-negoitiable for good reason.

Dominionist Rick Santorum, who claims (only) to be a “devout Catholic,” provides this week’s sterling example of disordered thinking when he tries to takes on pope. As you probably know, the pope supports the scientifically proven fact that the rapid climate change of the last century is directly connected to man’s overuse and continuing overuse of fossil fuels.

[Santorum] told a Philadelphia radio station that Pope Francis should “leave science to the scientists” and focus on things like “theology and morality” instead of climate change.

Santorum is a sad and confused man, indeed, and will probably be rejected once again during the GOP primary cycle. In questioning the pope’s use of his position to speak on climate change, Santorum ignores the fact the the pope actually has a degree in chemistry, and runs counter to the GOP talking point that politicians are immune from holding a position either way on climate science — because they are not scientists. Next week, the pope is going to release an encyclical letter on the environment, and this is apparently too much for Rick, proving once again that dominionists are incapable of entertaining any idea or concept that conflicts with their underlying philosophy.

We urge you to learn more about dominionism and take action, starting with making sure everyone knows each one we can identify as dominionists unfit to hold the public trust because they have and always will be taking their oaths of office with fingers tied tightly behind their back. We started naming these dominionists yesterday in the process of reintroducing to you probably the oldest, largest, best organized, and most secretive dominionist cult, The Family (aka The Fellowship). We will continue doing so with your help and participation, so please contact me if you are interested in helping to rid our government of all dominionists.
